Graduation Girl
This card was created for a friend of my mom's who was graduating college. I think this image is so cute and I enjoyed coloring it. I chose to go with the school colors of the school to make it a little more personable which I believe I captured. The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and the image is called Ava Grad Diploma. Another layout I was able to pull from one of my magazines. The image was colored using Tombow Water Color markers but this time on a cardstock paper and not a watercolor paper.
Happy Birthday Penguin
I'm excited to be using this new animal to my card collection. It is so versatile that I can use the creature in a girl or boy form by simply dressing him/her up. The example above shows the penguin in a boy form with bow tie and hat to match. So cute and so easy to create.
The layout was created from inspiration from a craft magazine called Cards by Northridge Publishing. I picked up this subscription from the annual scrapbook expo in Ontario, Ca. They offer a new layout each month in their issues which I love. They also offer a layouts edition of one of their issues. From the inspiration of the layout I am able to add my focul point and add any additional embellishments.
This is another example of the use of the penguin but as a girl this time where I used the same bow from the boy but used is as a bow in her hair. All the stamps used are from Stamps by Judith which I love. This penguin is part of a tutorial that she offers on her site so it gives you great step by steps on how to create. I used Tombow Watercolor makers to color the penguins on Canson Watercolor Paper. I purchased my Tombow's from Blick's Art Supply store and my watercolor paper from Hobby Lobby. I also used a spellbinders, scalloped oval to cut out my penguin to give it a little more character and well as using a label spellbinders to cut out the Happy Birthday label with my Cuttlebug.

My 'Insta Moments'
This was a fun and new exciting project. I’ve made photo books on Shutterfly which were great but this was something new on Elisa Blaha’s Blog that I had to try. I love looking through all these different crafty inspirational blogs that allow me to explore and experiment. I created a photo book from Blurb of all my instagram pictures from 2012. I couldn’t decide how to print and what to do with all my instragram pictures that this was a great way to showcase them for the year. I’m going to make it a point to create one each year of my memories.
Tiny Prints
Not only do I love easy drag and drop designs but at Tiny Prints you are able to create a lot of fun items with their super easy drag and drop layouts. This in particular was created for a mug for my Husband. I made him one awhile back through Costco which was great but I love the new layouts that Tiny Prints had and it helps when they give you an awesome offer.
A Modern Christmas
Another idea for the holidays, patterned reindeer to add a modern flair to this traditional holiday. My cousin wanted a simple image in a pattern on a kraft colored card which a fairly visible ribbon tying it all together. I believe I accomplished the look in this card.
Chevron Lines
This idea came from my cousin who wanted a unique but trendy way of saying ‘Thank You’ to his girlfriends and came up with the idea of using the Chevron Patter in a vibrant yet modern way. This was created improvising with an SVG file of a trellice that I widen and cut to fit the width of the card. It was challenging to size it in which certain cards were created by placing multiple pieces together. It turned out great though.
Painterly Pots
This is a little something not card related but crafty related. I was looking for some pots to use to replant some plants at work. I was trying to find an inexpensive way so I purchased 2 medium size clay pots from Lowe’s which were about $2.50 a piece and the bottom plate part was maybe $1.99 so that was a steal. I wanted to paint it a couple different colors so I went over to the paint department to see what they had. To my surprise they had a table with ‘sample’ swatches that were perfect and were only $1 a piece so that was even better. This whole project cost me less than $15.
