Graduation Girl

This card was created for a friend of my mom's who was graduating college. I think this image is so cute and I enjoyed coloring it. I chose to go with the school colors of the school to make it a little more personable which I believe I captured. The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and the image is called Ava Grad Diploma. Another layout I was able to pull from one of my magazines. The image was colored using Tombow Water Color markers but this time on a cardstock paper and not a watercolor paper.

Happy Birthday Penguin

I'm excited to be using this new animal to my card collection. It is so versatile that I can use the creature in a girl or boy form by simply dressing him/her up. The example above shows the penguin in a boy form with bow tie and hat to match. So cute and so easy to create.

The layout was created from inspiration from a craft magazine called Cards by Northridge Publishing. I picked up this subscription from the annual scrapbook expo in Ontario, Ca. They offer a new layout each month in their issues which I love. They also offer a layouts edition of one of their issues. From the inspiration of the layout I am able to add my focul point and add any additional embellishments.

This is another example of the use of the penguin but as a girl this time where I used the same bow from the boy but used is as a bow in her hair. All the stamps used are from Stamps by Judith which I love. This penguin is part of a tutorial that she offers on her site so it gives you great step by steps on how to create. I used Tombow Watercolor makers to color the penguins on Canson Watercolor Paper. I purchased my Tombow's from Blick's Art Supply store and my watercolor paper from Hobby Lobby. I also used a spellbinders, scalloped oval to cut out my penguin to give it a little more character and well as using a label spellbinders to cut out the Happy Birthday label with my Cuttlebug.

My 'Insta Moments'

This was a fun and new exciting project. I’ve made photo books on Shutterfly which were great but this was something new on Elisa Blaha’s Blog that I had to try. I love looking through all these different crafty inspirational blogs that allow me to explore and experiment. I created a photo book from Blurb of all my instagram pictures from 2012. I couldn’t decide how to print and what to do with all my instragram pictures that this was a great way to showcase them for the year. I’m going to make it a point to create one each year of my memories.

Tiny Prints

Not only do I love easy drag and drop designs but at Tiny Prints you are able to create a lot of fun items with their super easy drag and drop layouts. This in particular was created for a mug for my Husband. I made him one awhile back through Costco which was great but I love the new layouts that Tiny Prints had and it helps when they give you an awesome offer.

A Modern Christmas

Another idea for the holidays, patterned reindeer to add a modern flair to this traditional holiday. My cousin wanted a simple image in a pattern on a kraft colored card which a fairly visible ribbon tying it all together. I believe I accomplished the look in this card.

Chevron Lines

This idea came from my cousin who wanted a unique but trendy way of saying ‘Thank You’ to his girlfriends and came up with the idea of using the Chevron Patter in a vibrant yet modern way. This was created improvising with an SVG file of a trellice that I widen and cut to fit the width of the card. It was challenging to size it in which certain cards were created by placing multiple pieces together. It turned out great though.

Painterly Pots

This is a little something not card related but crafty related. I was looking for some pots to use to replant some plants at work. I was trying to find an inexpensive way so I purchased 2 medium size clay pots from Lowe’s which were about $2.50 a piece and the bottom plate part was maybe $1.99 so that was a steal. I wanted to paint it a couple different colors so I went over to the paint department to see what they had. To my surprise they had a table with ‘sample’ swatches that were perfect and were only $1 a piece so that was even better. This whole project cost me less than $15.

Hangin' by a Onesie

This was a fun card to make and decorate. I made this card for my friend at work’s baby shower. She was having a boy which is always fun to create a baby boy shower card. I cut out three different one’s I free hand drew on cardstock and I traced and cut out 3 of them to put on this clothesline. I decorated each onesie differently which was the fun part. For the grass I didn’t have those special scissors for so I just cut individual strands for the grass. This was pretty easy to make. For the clothesline I just used a piece of twine.

Motherly Love

This is another creation I made for Mother’s day 2012 with the tree for all seasons from Stamps by Judith. Again her collection includes these cute stubbies that I used for the different parts of the tree. The stand I tried something a little different and used one of her baskets which I thought was nice. Her grass stamp is one of my favorites as I’ve mentioned previously which is great to add for background.

Baby Girl

This card was created for a baby shower. The tree for all seasons from Stamps by Judith was the base of this card. All the other little stamps were part of her ‘stubby’ collection which were super cute and easy to add to the tree. For the stand of the card I used a train which was a perfect touch to the baby shower card.

Pin Wheelin' It

This was another card created for Boss’s day. This probably looks fairly easy but I have never created the wheels before. It was a challenge to get it to stick down. I found myself having to glue a piece of paper to the back to keep the wheel from curling back up. That was my only challenge. I suspect it would have worked easier with a glue gun rather than craft glue. Otherwise I loved how this turned out.

Easter Love

These were my version of mini easter cards that I passed out at work. It was a cute mini version of the larger scale one’s I made that I mailed off to family. I used the easter stamps that I got from Papersource and the grass was purchased from Stamps by Judith. The grass stamp is a savior for a lot of my backgrounds to my cards. Once again super easy and fun to make.

Class Reunion

This was a little different and something I haven’t created. These labels were made for my cousin’s high school reunion. This was going to be affixed to candy vases that were going to be the center pieces to the tables. This was very easy to make as I cut out all the scallop circles on my cricut and then cut the inner circles out as well on the cricut. I embossed the red pieces with the tiny dots embossing folder which added a nice effect to the labels.

With Sympathy.....

No one likes to loose a loved one and I don’t like making cards for this type of occassion but I created this card for my mom’s boss who lost his mother last year. I decided to pick a nice green and brown to accent the card. I loved the bird and branch that I chose as it signified life to me. Adding simple words such as ‘with sympathy’ was a subtle touch that completed the card. I had flowers that I purchased from Michaels that I stuck on the branch to create the effect of flowers on the tree. Once again this was pretty simple to create.

Groom's Card

This was a special card to make that I created for my friend Cris who was getting married. This card was to be given to her husband on their wedding day. I found a similar layout online and tweaked it enough to make it work for this card. I cut out the palm tree and the hibiscus flowers from my cricut from a summer cartridge from cricut that I had. The hardest part was scaling to fit the card appropriately. I think added a strip of purple ribbon with pearls that completed the card.

Cheers!

This was another birthday card created for a girlfriend from school. This one was another fun image purchased from Bugaboo Stamps. This I believe is from the Stella collection. She’s fun and flirty and this was just too cute. I colored the image using a combination of copic and mepxy markers. I went over specific areas with glossy accents to make it come out a little, like the drink, her shoes and her lipstick. I accented the card with pearls and ribbon to complete the card.

A little Bubbly, Bath that is!

This card was created for a girlfriend of mine from college, who is such a girly girl and I thought this picture dipicted that. This is a digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps from the Dottie collection. She has tons of cute designs. I colored the design using copic markers and Mepxy markers. I just used different patterns of card stock to give a good design look for the card. I also punched a border with a lace punch from michaels to give the dull square some character.

Anniversary with Wine

This card was created for my friend at work for her anniversary with her fiance’ at the time, now husband. She wanted a card that resembled their love for wine, so what better way than a wine card. I purchased the digi stamp online, I don’t remember where so I will update once I remember. I started to use digi stamps more in 2012 just because it was an easier and cheaper way to get images on a card that you can customize any way you want. I opted for colors that they wanted to use for their wedding so I found really nice hues of green and purple from the bazzil card stock at Michael’s. This was so easy to make and I used the cutout of the card from one of my SVG Cuts file.

Love is in the air

This was a different take on my usual Valentine’s day cards to my Hubby. I try to get creative each year and this particular year I made this creation I decided to try an accordian in a box. This picture makes it look a little bigger than it is, it was a 4 x 4 craft box that I was able to dress up with various valentine’s day themed paper stock. Each square in the accordian was different, whether it was a picture of us. Sparkly sticker letters or objects and various ribbon, buttons and more card stock. This was really fun to make and really easy.

Legal

This was was created for my little sister’s 21st birthday. I thought what would be more appropriate on a card for someone that’s turning 21. An alcoholic beverage of course!! The martini glass was then chosen. It was so simple and I was able to dress it up with rhinestones. The #21 I was able to ink the sides to make it stand out since it too was pink like the actual card.

I'm a Little Tea Pot

This card was created for a friend at work. I thought this was simple, yet girly enough for her. It was part of a mother’s day set and was the teapot card. It was such an easy card to make as well and very fun. I added buttons to accent the happy birthday on the card.

Strike

This card was created for a co-worker who has a love for bowling. This card was very easy to make. It is part of the guys card set from SVG Cuts. It was just a matter of picking out the corresponding colored paper for each of the pieces that was a challenge but overall this was a fun, cute and easy card to make.

Girly Girl

This was a fun one to make for a girlfriends birthday. I used the color combination of red, black and white for this one to go with the cheetah print paper that I found. I created the card in white and layered red and white flat paper for the background. I embossed the white piece in my cuttlebug with the swirl embossing folder. The very cute cutout of the dress, hat and shoes were done on a cricut and I added accented gems throughout on her shoes, hat and as a belt on the dress. It was a hit.

Bridal Shower

This one was created awhile ago, close to when I first start using my cricut. I created this card as an invitation to a bridal shower for a friend’s sister. She gave me the color theme and I went with it. I purchased the folded cards and flat cards from Papersource. The folded cards were in a size A7 in color Peacock and the flat cards in size A6 in color chocolate. I embossed the flat cards with a tiny dots embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. I had a challenge with an extra gap it left so I went over with a strip of shimmering brown ribbon. The sillouette of the bride was done on a cricut from a bridal file.

Boss's Day

This card was created for Boss's Day for my supervisor. The main focus of the card was the mason jars. I worked around that to create this fun, interactive card.

The mason jar was from my stamp collection and I got from Michael's quite sometime ago. I love it because I could use it for so many ideas and it's a great size as well. I colored the mason jars lightly with a combination of Mepxy and Copic markers. The tiny bird, bee and butterfly stamp I got from Stampin' Fools for $1 each which was a steal. I embellished using twine that I picked up at a scrapbook convention in Anaheim, CA. I then added a button and pearls that I like to embellish my cards often with. Complete with a tag and voila', a simple creation.
